Blog Carnival Deadline Extended

ANNOUNCEMENT

I am extending until tomorrow morning, 9 AM Eastern time, the deadline for submissions for the Blog Carnival. The theme, as you all will know, is 'dark nights and getting through them'. My post on the topic will appear tomorrow. It's been hard to write and I'm not really satisfied with it but it's done.

So send your link to daveandjoe@hotmail.com or just put it in the comment section. We now have a goodly bunch and I'm excited about the process of putting the carnival together.

Today's post follows:

Hi Dave. I read your blog a lit, and this is the first time I've ever commented. Glad you extended the Carnival. Now I get to take part! Here's the link:

Dave, I really love reading your blog every day, but this white text on purple background makes it very difficult to read. It hurts my eyes so much that I can't read an entire post. I don't mean to complain, but I imagine that I am not the only reader having this problem.

Cheers!

Anon, thanks for letting me know about your difficulty. I've had a discussion about this here on the blog and you are right, there are readers who find the white text difficult. Problem is, there are readers who find the white text easier than the black text. So it's been decided that six months white and six months black. We are now two months into white, I'll try in the next day or two to change the background to a different colour and hope that helps, let me know if it does.

Anon, I changed the colour both of the background and of the text. I muted the white a bit hoping to eliminate glare. I also increased the type size. Does this help at all?

oh, poopies, i'm such an airhead.

i know it's too late, but I'm going to leave this for you anyway. It's not mine, but I recommend reading it even if you can't use it, which is fine, 'cause I'm too late :-).

Warning, though: It's about death, and it's a real tear-jerker. But it's worth the read.

Dave, the green is a bit of an improvement, but I will just copy and paste your posts into word for now, until you switch back. Thank you for being so considerate!

I will send the link today, my heart is working again.

Moose, I didn't use the link as I am only using links from people who submitted their own writing. I did read the post you suggested and loved it. I didn't have time to write to ask permission to link.
