I was just checking my email before settling down to write a blog post for today. I was knocked of my pins when I read an email from a colleague who is fighting the battle of his life with lung cancer. The prognosis isn't good.
Suddenly.
I have nothing to say.
Prayers ascending.
ReplyDeleteFWIW lung cancer has more treatment options now than even 5 years ago. I have a friend living well with advanced lung cancer that has spread to two other organs for two years now. It used to be a 'not responsive to treatment, get your affairs in order" diagnosis. And yes, your whole world view shatters in an instant on hearing the news.
Something like that does remind you of our struggles. I'm sending prayers for you, your colleague, and his family - may he receive the best of care and support.
ReplyDeleteOh. I am so very sorry.
ReplyDeleteYes. Everything else becomes suddenly irrelevant. And I am overwhelmed by memories of my own in that situation, and have no words, either.
ReplyDeleteBlessings.
I am so sorry. Sending strength to both you and your colleague.

Thy name is my healing, O my God, and remembrance of Thee is my remedy. Nearness to Thee is my hope, and love for Thee is my companion. Thy mercy to me is my healing and my succor in both this world and the world to come. Thou, verily, art the All-Bountiful, the All-Knowing, the All-Wise.

Keeping him in my thoughts
ReplyDeleteSometimes all we have is caring in our hearts and compassion for the people going through extreme challenges. Prayer too.
