blog carnival

The Blog Carnival is only a couple days away - and I've only got a couple of responses to the call. I am extending the deadline until noon EST on Monday. It's the sixth anniversary and I'd like to have it go off. If I can get five I'll go ahead and publish one. The date was set to be Oct 23rd and the topic is loosely: celebrations, birthdays, anniversaries ... So, get writing and leave me a comment here.

Today's post follows, tomorrow's will publish at midnight EST.

  1. I'm not sure what the Blog Carnival is, but I might want to participate. Did you mention it in a previous post? ... I scrolled back but I couldn't find mention of it. Thank you!

  2. The Disability Blog Carnival is a monthly 'round up' of posts from across the disability blogosphere. Typically a theme is posted and people submit blogs, either written specifically for the carnival or from their archive. Then the host puts them together along with some commentary. It's a good way for us all to get to discover other blogs, other voices. It was started by Penny Richards six years ago over at disstud.blogspot.com Hope you join in.

  3. I don't have a blog - but I do enjoy reading other folks's - liek Dave's. One thing I personally celebrated was finding out that Turner's Classic station was highlighting disability in film. Yes - I'm sure there are stereotypes and inaccurate portrayals - but at least it is being noticed. And that to me is something to celebrate. The link of the films highlighted during the month of October is: http://www.tcm.com/2012/projectedImage/index.html
    Enjoy.

  5. Oh man, I so wanted to do this! But one a day (for 31 for 21) has really challenged me! And I don't think I can get a celebration piece in by tomorrow. But I look forward to what will be there!

  7. Hi Dave,
I will have something to share on the holocaust garden of remembrance. I'm hoping this qualifies as an anniversary as we are almost in HEW (Holocaust Education Week.) I will blog about this tomorrow hopefully. When I do I will send you a link.

  8. I am a little bit blogger, just do it a lil bit. Here is my latest and it refers to birthdays. It may be not at all what you are talking about but I just saw this and thought I would give it a go.
    Thank you
