I think a lot of staff, even if they care about their job, don't understand that doing something with someone when you're being paid isn't the same as going somewhere with a friend. Barring some really high need on the part of the staff person (like needing to sit down or needing to go to the bathroom really badly), there shouldn't really be compromises between the two people. Sometimes I feel like staff think they're helping or teaching a disabled person to be more thoughtful by encouraging the disabled person to compromise, but really you're not doing your job if you don't do what they want.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-35743239.post-65081487158020451762011-09-14T06:12:29.069-04:002011-09-14T06:12:29.069-04:00That made me smile. That made me smile.Crow Janehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00990955864204229815noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-35743239.post-76823906915791168742011-09-14T05:39:25.847-04:002011-09-14T05:39:25.847-04:00Thanks for the good news...we all need an example ...Thanks for the good news...we all need an example of what "should be" to follow at times.Mike Mayerhttp://www.cra.ccnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-35743239.post-44530042870005829682011-09-13T21:47:04.302-04:002011-09-13T21:47:04.302-04:00Gold star for him!

And, I'll get killed for this, I think that this would have been equally, if not more, remarkable if it WAS a family member. Anyways, sometimes I simply need to have readers trust that I'm seeing what I'm seeing, I don't want to always outline how I came to a conclusion.Dave Hingsburgerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11918601687946534172noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-35743239.post-91617529580285443792011-09-13T15:52:21.463-04:002011-09-13T15:52:21.463-04:00that is so nice to hear, regardless of caregiver o...that is so nice to hear, regardless of caregiver or family member...tekealhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06624164330376848455noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-35743239.post-26352088507763840222011-09-13T08:50:08.680-04:002011-09-13T08:50:08.680-04:00Not to be a Debbie Downer, but are you certain thi...Not to be a Debbie Downer, but are you certain this was in fact a caring staff person, and not a loving family member?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-35743239.post-44203433907665360432011-09-13T08:49:16.142-04:002011-09-13T08:49:16.142-04:00Whoever he was I shout "Bravo" to this y...Whoever he was I shout "Bravo" to this young man, who didn't know who was watching.Belindahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09251920708783268740noreply@blogger.com
