A couple weeks ago I accompanied a woman who lives in a grouphome to church where the pastor gave a sermon where he described grace which smacked of abuse to me.....a story of a boy who did something wrong, dad had to punish him 10 times.....but only did 8 times which was mercy, then a short while later invited him for ice cream which was grace.....getting what you dont deserve.
Thank you for this antidote.theknappernoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-35743239.post-60973501898520199472012-08-24T22:02:57.054-04:002012-08-24T22:02:57.054-04:00Yes. For being able to give the man the assistance he needed without calling any further attention to him or his quandary.

From your description, Dave, I would agree the the man behaved with grace. And character.

Thank you.wheeliecronehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10570378001102933660noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-35743239.post-83515746563486027052012-08-24T08:28:56.025-04:002012-08-24T08:28:56.025-04:00Yes, thanks, Joe. I am working with our high school on a peer mentoring program that we hope will help the kids with intellectual disabilities be more included in the whole high school experience. It was mentioned to a few students at the end of last year. This year those kids went to the assistant principal the first day of school asking when they were going to get started. I have ten volunteers from that group to help with a fundraiser I'm doing - for an organization whose members have intellectual disabilities. I hope they learn that they are more than "so loving" - and aren't always loving at all. But I already know that they know they're not going to catch anything. Words have dictionary meanings and they have personal meanings. Here, in this post is 'grace' as defined by my inner self. Note the 'Grace, to me,'... in the post. Because, devil be damned, this man showed 'grace' as I understand and use the word.Dave Hingsburgerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11918601687946534172noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-35743239.post-9098602621515788432012-08-24T06:47:43.435-04:002012-08-24T06:47:43.435-04:00Good for Joe, too, for making the act of help casu...Good for Joe, too, for making the act of help casual instead of drawing even more attention to the guy. little.birdyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07156310917613899680noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-35743239.post-44424718363932655232012-08-24T04:32:22.911-04:002012-08-24T04:32:22.911-04:00grace
