Or is it really ok for a woman to give her personal mobile number to a man who has spoken no more than 2 sentences to her? Or is it that it's ok because he has a disability??? What is he learning from this social situation (albeit that it is a safe environment for him!)?<BR/>I have on occassions refused to give this gentleman my telephone number, (I hope I've done it in a gentle and educational way). <BR/><BR/>I agree with your comment "desperately lonely people do desperately lonely things" and I have concerns for the response this gentleman may get in wider social settings where he may get it so totally wrong!!!<BR/><BR/>I have found this incredibly difficult to write because, yes, I understand he's lonely, yes, I understand he wants friends but he also needs to know how to keep himself safe and perhaps we who meet him at the conference can do whatever we can to guide him in his pursuit of friendships.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
